Fairy Skirts

These must be the easiest things I have ever made! I used this tutorial - Frou Frou Tutu.

This is nearly a 'no sew' project. I hope to get some better photos once the girls have been given them for Christmas. They are very hard to take photos off when they aren't being worn.

Each skirt used 3 metres of bridal tulle, 1.5 metres of each colour.

This one in Melissa's, it is baby pink and hot pink.

This one is Hannah's, it is mauve and hot pink.

Sorry for the sideways photos, for some reason blogger kept tipping them portrait when uploading them!!

New Pajamas

I have just finished making the girls new PJ's. I made them one pair of long pants and one pair of short pants each, then appliqued some tops to match - two t-shirts and one singlet each. This way they can mix and match dependent on the weather.

I was going to applique their initial onto the tops, but didn't want to limit the 'hand-me-down' factor.

Here is some photos of the girls modelling them after their bath tonight.

The Motivation didn't happen...

But with the kids gone for the day, Nick and I did acheive one thing. We bought more sand for the sandpit, and I undertook one of my biggest sewing projects ever... a sandpit cover (although it was actually a no-sew job!)

Nick and I are off tomorrow morning for a wee adventure. The kids are already packed away at Nana & Poppa's. We fly to Auckland in the morning, pick up a brand spanking new Campervan, and travel with one of my cousins upto the top of the North Island, and then spend a week travelling back down to Christchurch.

We both can't wait to see some of our own country. I have been to Auckland a few times, but only really in transit, arriving one afternoon and leaving again at some ungodly hour of the next morning, I have spent time in a little town outside Rotorua, but apart from this, I was too young to remember any other time spent in the North Island.

I am going to try and do some knitting while we are away, I will see if I can knit while Nick drives. This is the project I will try and do. I have bought some Patons Smoothie to use, hopefully I will be able to post a photo of the finished article soon.
