But with the kids gone for the day, Nick and I did acheive one thing. We bought more sand for the sandpit, and I undertook one of my biggest sewing projects ever... a sandpit cover (although it was actually a no-sew job!)
Nick and I are off tomorrow morning for a wee adventure. The kids are already packed away at Nana & Poppa's. We fly to Auckland in the morning, pick up a brand spanking new Campervan, and travel with one of my cousins upto the top of the North Island, and then spend a week travelling back down to Christchurch.
We both can't wait to see some of our own country. I have been to Auckland a few times, but only really in transit, arriving one afternoon and leaving again at some ungodly hour of the next morning, I have spent time in a little town outside Rotorua, but apart from this, I was too young to remember any other time spent in the North Island.
I am going to try and do some knitting while we are away, I will see if I can knit while Nick drives. This is the
project I will try and do. I have bought some Patons Smoothie to use, hopefully I will be able to post a photo of the finished article soon.
