Beth Pinafore

I have finished the Beth Pinafore that I was knitting.  Unfortunately I don't have a model the right size for any action shots...

I think I started something when I knitted the doll dress in red and pink stripes, as I also have another order to knit in the same colours, just slightly different.

Tonight I have cast on for Meg, which is another pinafore from the March Sisters Pinafore series.  These pinafores are all designed by Kelly, and if you don't want to purchase a pinafore through me, you can buy her pattern via Ravelry.

I have also found a new gadget on the internet, it is Big Huge Labs Mosaic Maker.  It is how I made the mosaic in this post, it is really easy to use.

About time I updated this blog!!

Wow, it has nearly been a whole month since I last posted!  I have been quite busy in that month, first off during the second week of the school holidays we went away with my parents, sister, brother-in-law, two nieces, brother & his girlfriend to a beautiful bay called Ngakuta Bay which is in the Marlborough Sounds.  Plenty of fun was had as my girls had their first experiences with seals...

fishing...

riding bikes with no training wheels...

It was Hannah's birthday the day we went away, she got a few presents the night before from Nick's side of the family, she obviously loved this chair she was given, as we found her the next morning sitting on it - on top of the arm chair!

Then it was more presents when we got to our destination.

Also whilst we were away, the four girls (Hannah, Melissa and their cousins Bridget and Katy) had another go at dying a ball of wool each, it was really fascinating watching their different methods of mixing and applying the colours.  I will post some photos later of the finished results.

March Sisters Pinafores for Little Women and their Dollies

After getting some really positive comments about some doll dresses I recently knitted, I decided to buy a cottage licence to knit and sell both the doll and girl versions of the March Sisters Pinafores by Kelly Brooker.

The four different styles of pinafore are all similar in construction and are designed with the March Sisters in mind (from the book and movie Little Women) sized from NB to 5 years.

Meg is a pinafore exhibiting a clean silhouette accented with simple cable detailing.
Jo is a pinafore for the tomboy; a simple, non-girly pinafore perfect for throwing over a long tee and pair of jeans, ready to jump around in the muck!
Beth is a pinafore for the quiet girl in your family; the ‘close to mama’, non-demanding daughter whom is content with plain, but cherishes a wee hint of lace and pretty.
Amy is a pinafore for the youngest sister; a pretty, frilly, very girly pinafore perfect for the wee lover of all things feminine.

Here are some photos of my first order completed, which is Jo for a three year old and her dolly...

I am now busily knitted a Beth, this is going to be fairly much the same as this - just bigger, it is for a two year old...

If you would like to purchase a lovely hand-knitted pinafore for any Little Women in your life or their Dolly, please send me a message.
